Why Registration Checks Matter
Registration checks are more than a box-ticking exercise—they help confirm your vehicle is safe, roadworthy and ready for the year ahead. Our team inspects critical components like seatbelts, tyres, indicators, windscreen wipers, and exhaust systems to identify wear or faults.
If everything passes, we lodge your e-Safety check results directly with the RMS so you can complete your rego renewal online. If we find any issues, we’ll explain the problem clearly and outline what’s needed to fix it. Whether your rego is due or you’re selling a used car, having a valid and passed inspection is essential for legal compliance and peace of mind.
What is a rego check?
A rego check, also called an e-Safety check or pink slip, is a safety inspection required for vehicles over five years old before renewing NSW registration. It confirms your car is roadworthy and meets legal safety standards.
Do I need a rego check for all vehicles?
In NSW, rego checks are only required for light vehicles more than five years old. Newer vehicles are exempt until they pass the five-year mark. Always check your registration renewal notice for inspection requirements.
What happens if my car fails the rego check?
If your car fails, you’ll receive a report detailing the issues. You have 14 days to complete repairs and return for a free re-inspection. After 14 days, a new rego check will be required before approval.
